About the role

The General Manager – Coal Mine Production holds full operational responsibility for coal production across the site, leading the production, mine planning, and engineering functions to deliver the site's annual production and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

Lead overall production, mine planning, and engineering operations at site level
Set annual production targets and operating budgets, and ensure their achievement
Oversee and mentor production managers and department heads across the site
Ensure full compliance with mining regulations, HSE standards, and environmental requirements
Represent the site to the client, government bodies, and key external stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives across production operations
Oversee the performance of mining subcontractors and key vendor relationships
Report site performance, risks, and forecasts to the Director/Board on a regular basis

Requirements

15+ years experience
Bachelor's degree (S1) in Mining Engineering; a Master's degree is an advantage.
Languages: English
POU certification (preferred)
Master's degree in Mining Engineering (preferred)
